It looks to me like there is some support to have eeschema talk to
pcbnew.   

1) How does this work, where is the documentation on this support?


2) Does the communication work the other way, from pcbnew to eeschema?
(Thats what I need now.) I would like to click a module and see it
in the schematic.


3) I think DBUS is excellent for this. DBUS is standard now on linux
and there is a windows library for DBUS too. I would recommend it in
case somebody finds 3 weeks on their hands with nothing to do.
