Well most importantly, the instiator, not the instantiatee, should now about
instantiation.

By that I mean these paths have no business even existing down in the thing
being instantiated, but rather up where they are referenced, and in that case it
is only a single binding, no?

Think verilog's "module instantiation", but in s-expressions.
