Right. I'm just observing that this approach can often bury useful information in hard to find places.
Search function?
Yes; when you know the information you want is in there somewhere, but you can't remember where, and you've had no luck trying to guess the path from the front page, you reach for search. Unfortunately, Moin search leaves a lot to be desired (but Google crawling our site might be better).
Of course, it's a wiki so you can have your cake and eat it too. You can situate the information close to similar content, and still keep a page that collects links to these useful bits in one place.
