Re: Mac G3 testing - desktop .iso
Jim
The bug with the desktop .iso on a G3 iMac is that the CD doesn't boot to the Lubuntu desktop, but rather to a command prompt or a blank screen altogether. More likely a command prompt.
The bug on the alternate .iso is that the install completes, but the iMac boots to a command prompt following the install.
Editing the xorg.conf file and rebooting can solve this.
Once installed via the alternate and edited xorg.conf file, Lubuntu runs pretty well.
So both the desktop and alternate need testing.
An improvement in the desktop would be to boot to a desktop during the install (and eventually following the install.)
An improvement in the alternate would be to boot to the desktop following the install

Paul Gorski

Hi Paul,
I'm new here (this is my first post) and mainly got interested because
Phill posted on the Ubuntu-UK list that there is a bug in Lubuntu which
needs confirming by another Mac G3 user. I'm just installing the beta on
my iMac now, so can you point me to the bug in question so I can see if
I can confirm it.
