Re: b43 (broadcom) WiFi
I think the anomaly is in your assumption that it does work. I have tried it on two different Broadcom-equipped ppc machines and it does not work. As I said before, it's because everything is not included. b43-fwcutter is not the driver; it's a tool that extracts and installs the firmware which itself needs to be downloaded separately. So if you want to make it work, that download should have already been done. Not to mention it needs to go through the process of installation. If this still doesn't make sense, I suggest reading Greg's email on the subject [1]. It also may help to understand what b43-fwcutter does (and that it relies upon other files). Check out the man page [2]. If done a bit of searching and can't find either of those two aforementioned files. FYI the machine I'm next to now has a BCM4306.
