It would help if you could recall which one.  In the past *buntu has used 
(IIRC) GDM, KDM, XDM and LXDM.  That doesn't leave too many other choices.  
CDM claims to be 'ultralight', but it appears not to be in the repository 
nor is it clear how much space, if any, it would save.
