Re: Connect Engine with ODBC

Thanks for that Colin,

I’ll load 10.1.8 and have a go at that. From memory I think 10.1.7 was the latest available at the time.

Before I log any bug report though, I’m not sure if I’ve been trying the right method.

I’ve been trying to add indexing after creating the connect tables.
I’ll have a go at adding the indexing to the create statements and see how that goes.

Regards,
Bruce Carlson

Thanks for testing Bruce! It's worth noting that 10.1.8 has been GA for about a month now. It indexing isn't working as expected, please file a bug -- MariaDB.org/jira

Thanks again Bruce.

Hi Colin,

Yes sorry a typo it's actually version 10.1.7.

I like testing the beta versions as much as I can.

I was running 10.1.6 64 bit on windows 7 64 bit OS but could not connect to the 32 bit ODBC for the old CISAM DB so I installed 10.1.7 32 bit and so far I'm impressed Just can't get remote indexing to work but that could be because I don't have enough knowledge on the subject.

But I'll try what you have suggested and have a look at 10.1.8.

Bruce Carlson

I think you’ve installed MariaDB Server 10.0.17, since there is no current release of MariaDB Server 10.1 that high yet. The latest release is MariaDB Server 10.1.8, and you can download/install that, and what you want should in theory work

see: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/what-is-mariadb-101/

Hope that 10.1.8 solves your problems!

cheers,
