[Bug 485730] [NEW] googleearth destroys myplaces.kml for some locales

Public bug reported:

The problem is well known and well described in the GE community, I have
been hit by this problem myself now on 9.10. For some reason I was
unaffected on 9.04.

The best description of the problem is Zimmers comment on
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/earth/thread?tid=72b851d55f188cea&hl=en

The best solution/workaround is pete.dawgg comment in same thread.

I have made a very simple patch that solves the problem for medibuntu
googleearth.

Hope you incorporate this patch in the medibuntu package.
