Re: [Hkcr-dev] XMind Code

Hello all,

I am a student who is working on the project under the supervision of
Luciana. I would like to clarify some points. I hope my English from
Google Translator is understandable . ;)

I saw that long debated the idea of XMind is a free software (among
other things ...), but the problem itself is the kind of file it gives
us and how this file can be integrated into Plone without it's show
static, as in the solution presented by Roger. The only way I found
(with clickable maps) so far for handling mental maps of the form
satisfactory in Plone 4 is using Freemind files (there is a plugin
from Plone 3, but only works with files .mm as well). As the Freemind
creates a direct XML, while XMind builds a .XMind, is complicated to
build a * translator * for the .XMind files work on Freemind solution.
That was the problem that I presented to Luciana. On one side the .Mm
in XML and the other .XMind which until that moment I had no idea how
to open. Searching, I saw that the .XMind is a .Zip file with some XML
documents (content and style separate =/ ), some folders
and attached to a thumbnail image, ie a complex organization and that
I can not say from now if I can *translate* it to the standards XML
files, but I'll work on it to see if something nice happens.

Anyway ... In this solution the big problem are the input files. If we
could use the .Mm maps, that are exported in the XMind program, now we
could say that the problem would be solved in point.

I would like to opinions and suggestions,

J.B. Nascimento
