We are developping something similar to what Daniel points out (it's a pity
we didn't find that module when we started this). Modules are not yet
finished, but they allow to input materials and extraordinary expenses, and
both are synchronized with analitic accounting ask task work is by default.
An improvement to be made (not required for our customer) is to connect the
materials with packing lists... but as you, Dale, just want to input
"service" products I think it won't matter to you.

I attach some screenshots (in Spanish)... Modules expected to be released
in January, don't hesitate to contact me for further information.

[Offtopic] We have another module in this project that adds a new option in
Pricelists, where it can be selected the time(s) period(s) when the rule
applies. This has allowed our customer to have different prices for the man
hour depending on what time period is input.
