I think we should add a new one2many field, something like "type_id", 
and turn the current "type" field into a function field.

The "type" function would return "/ type_id and type_id.code or 'other' 
/", so we remain compatible at the code level (the field would preserve 
is behaviour); we still would need to replace the "type" field with the 
"type_id" field on the views, but that's easier to do.
