Sure, and do not hesitate to remind them personally from time to time too,
particularly if you notice 'abusive' translation reviews ;-) They're human..;-)
But usually they should not mess much with the translations anyway unless they
spot errors.
With respect to the above, I must confess I've just done a pass on the
translations of the new "openerp-web" project in Reviewer mode:

I had done a first pass in Translator mode a few days ago, but the release is
approaching and 50% of the terms were still untranslated, despite most of them
having suggestions.
I was careful to use the most appropriate translation for every term, keeping
them consistent from module to module (e.g. translating "Undefined" as "Sans
valeur" in all cases where it is used - grouped lists or kanban views).
Sometimes the original English string is quite misleading for translators, so
it is really important to pay attention to the context and go and check the
actual Javascript/XML source file to really understand where the terms are used.
So we have now an initial French translation to start with, feel free to
perform a second review of the translations, there aren't that many (but please
be careful to double-check the context before altering the translations)

PS: I would be glad to join the openerp-i18n-french team, in case I might be
able to help with the translations as a normal member :-)
