My cousin Peter is transferring to Ubuntu from windoze. His laptop is
now 100% Ubuntu, but his desktop is still dual booting. There now only
two pieses of software he has to migrate to Ubuntu on. One is his
accounts which he is going through the tedious business of transferring
to gnucash. The other is his genealogical software he uses for his work.
He works as a freelance historian and genealogist for institutions like
the British Library, and thinks he can transfer all this work to Ubuntu!
I've told him about OpenShot, but I don't think he does much filming.

For future reference; I have now worked out how to get the translations
done on DocBook XML files like the Help files.
The utility xml2po does the trick! It can generate the .pot file, and
will then merge in all the resulting .po translations when they are
done. So I will be able to setup another translation thingy on the Help
Manual Series and collect up all the .po files to merge into the manual.
I am having less luck with trying to get yelp to index the openshot.xml
file. Unfortunately the Gnome Documentation Project made a readical
change to the methods when they got rid of the scrollkeeper which used
to be used to explicitly index the .omf files. I have been trying the
suggestions I have got from some of the Ubuntu irc channels, but without
success. I am going to have to contact the GDP people directly, to find
out how to index it.
Best wishes, Helen
