Here's my (hopefully less controversial) feedback to what's outlined in the wiki:

1) Client libs shouldn't be *required* to support previous versions. However, I would strongly encourage libs not to drop support for existing versions and to only do so *extremely* rare cases

2) You might want to clarify that we will test client libs against currently maintained stable branches, not 'previously released server versions' which could imply austin+
