Re: [Bug 746977] [NEW] We needs a small (or large) business sign up page.

Joshua,

This was meant to go to you much earlier today.

Interestingly enough, I didn't realize who you were until I looked at your email address. I suppose I should start compiling a list of people who aren't just the "general public" anymore. Also, you are the owner of the form in Google docs. All-in-all, you're correct that it would be relatively simple to export the data and reuse it in Drupal/CiviCRM when necessary. The front-end design of the document (what is visible to the people using it) can also be customized either now or later. Let me know if what I just said doesn't exactly answer your question.

Migrating the data to a new format shouldn't be a problem when that comes up. I've read that CiviCRM allows individuals (or organizations) sign up without assistance to become contributors/volunteers/donors. Once we have that set up properly I think it will do what you're asking for.

Sorry for the slow response. I don't currently have a wordpress id/password, so I can't view the form. Nonetheless, I was hoping to get a little more elaborate than something that simply collects data. That in mind, I've acquired a CiviCRM manual and I'm absorbing as much as I can. However, with the many concurrent (non-Drupal/CiviCRM) initiatives the OSDF is chewing on, I'd like to be able to set something up in time to catch the momentum when these things launch. So I'm wondering how hard it would be to fashion the google form in such a way that it can migrate fairly easily, both from the back-end data perspective (probably very easy) and the front-end design. Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Kage,
Any more immediate solution like this one is one that would need
to be implemented in Wordpress. However, if you would like to have
admin-type access to the Drupal installation get with me. The
current focus with Drupal is 2-fold: configure the theme (which is
pending a proper draft from our designer) and configure CiviCRM.
Any suggestions/additions/improvements to the setup are welcome as
    well.

    Joshua,
I have created the form and made you the owner. You can see the
    Wordpress draft at http://theosdf.org/?page_id=133&preview=true
    <http://theosdf.org/?page_id=133&preview=true> (you must be logged
in). Let me know if you need help with anything like adding it to
    a menu, etc.

I've gone and obligated us[1], though this is something a few
        of us have
talked about for a while. Kevin[2], our resident policy geneus,
        suggested it contain the following:

        ------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Name (of owner)
        Business
        Business Address
        Business Phone number (for verification)
        Industry
Can we use your business name in OSDF publications in the future?
        ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd be happy to build a mock up if this is something we can up and
running in the next 5 days or so.

        Any takers?
