Re: RAW+JPEG How to deal with ?
Hello,
Sorry to wasting your precious time ;-)
You're almost correct.
The solution you propose is indeed the best if my needs would be
download only raw or only jpeg.
BUT
That's not what I need.
let me give you a sample:
let's assume My card contains
IMG_0002.JPG --> I want it ( because there's no matching CR2 )
IMG_0003.CR2 --> I want it ( because it's a RAW)
IMG_0003.JPG --> I DO NOT want it ( because I have the matching CR2)
IMG_0004.CR2 --> I want it ( because it's a RAW)
IMG_0005.JPG --> I want it ( because there's no matching CR2 )
IMG_0003.JPG must not go into my archive.
IMG_0002 has been shot in "Basic zone " ( manual page 20 )
IMG_0003 has been shot in "Creative zone" (manual page 20 )
See manual page 62 for info about the RAW + JPEG shoting mode
Please check Canon 400D Xti manual

Sorry to bother you, but I think that giving you pointer to my camera
operation manual is the simplest way to let you understand my needs....
Kind regards,
Etienne
PS: I tried modify the copyfiles.py module to adapt it. but I have
still have issues with the backup part. Maybe modifying the scan.py to
ignore
the files I don't need would be better.

How could I configure rapid to filter out those JPG files ?
The way I understand your question is like this: what is the best way
to imagine using Rapid Photo Downloader to select files for download
by file type? It seems to me the best way will be to have an option in
the Select menu to select by file type, such as "Check all RAW Photos"
and "Check all JPEG Photos". I very much believe this is not something
that should be in the program preferences.
If you want to implement this feature I very much encourage you to do
so. There are many ways in which I think Rapid Photo Downloader can be
improved, but I am truly exceptionally busy at this time (this is why
I haven't reviewed your patch yet!) .
