Hello Ali,

Hi,

I guess I explained everything to you in the email I sent you.

Which we agreed that we need to talk (voice chat) to discuss in deep details ;)

As for the contribution from FOSS communities might be anything.
You already have me in your team, right?
You know that I am involved with so many projects: Previously Lubuntu (all my friends are still there). Currently, Ubuntu GNOME (Leader and founder of Ubuntu GNOME Sub-Teams). StartUbuntu (Founder). ToriOS (Founder). And some other less popular projects :)
Ubuntu Quality (Social Media Admin).
Not to mention, Xubuntu Marketing Leader is a good friend of mine too.

You see, when it comes to support, worry not. I am sure we can find at least 10 people to support RocketsOSI :)

However, we need to define "anything" :)
What "anything" involves? everything at all? still not good enough. The people we will approach will ask for 'specific' details so either they can help or not.

I have suggested previously to post on Ubuntu Forums (The Cafe Sub-Forum) and write about the project and share the ideas. You never know, you might find so many support :) creating an profile on Ubuntu Forums isn't hard ;)

What I thought would be nice if we get Thumb drives/T-Shirts or
anything for the students to motivate them to come to the events
and participate.
I don't know about you but if you ask me, there are other thoughts to have the attention which is much easier yet effective.

Like?

You invite some at someplace and 'show' them Linux. Seeing is believing.
Bring two laptops (for example), one with Windows and other with Linux. It is good to show the differences live ;)

Just a quick thought!

I have no idea how things are going to work or if this is even possible
I am just suggesting.. SO to be clear again,, we don't want money!
We are discussing things only.

Let's talk (me and you) and if anyone else would like to join, I don't mind. Google Hangout can be used by 10 at the same time :) just let me know when and I'm here to help!

Thanks,
Hussein

Thank you!

    Hello All,

    Hi,

@Chris: when do you think we should start looking for funding for
    the
    ideas we talked about?

I guess we will be done building the distro faster than we
    thought. Do
you think it is a good idea to ask for the funding now or wait
    until April
since our main work will start after the release of The LTS
    Ubuntu 14.04
    in April 17... I guess?

@Ali: do you have any idea if we can get funding from the
    communities?
any kind of funding/donations anything can encourage students?
Not sure what exactly in your mind? funding for what exactly?

I'm involved with many communities so either I can ask them or you
could join the mailing list and explain what you have in mind.
Also, Ubuntu Forums - The Cafe might be a good place to spread the
    word.

But again, what exactly are you guys trying to achieve?

@Ahmad: we will talk to the departments as you said when we make sure
when to actually start asking for funding and maybe after
    designing a procure
    describing the events in details.

@Hisham: you should engage with the guys here to see make things
    work
please. we need to get funding to really show our contribution.

    Thanks all in advance.

    Hussein

    Thank you!
