Message #00024
Re: [Funding] When to start?
Hello All,
The initial idea we discussed in the meeting was to organize a Test-a-thon.
We decided that we can ask participants to find a bug in the latest Ubuntu
release (which would be a contribution from RocketOSI) and they get to keep
the flash drive loaded with LiveUbuntu. Further, for each bug discovered,
we donate $1 (or higher, which we can discuss based on funding) to a Cancer
Institute or Hospital. This should be a good noble cause to ask for funding
from external agencies. As Chris mentioned, we can advertise for them this
way using Banners, Brochures, etc.
The other idea we had was to organize a Open Source Software related
Lecture at our University Campus and for this, we need a small fund to get
food, that's it I think. Advertisement, etc would be mostly free.
If we want to have a meeting, we can decide upon a time soon as the Spring
Break is already here.
Thanks
Ahmad Javaid
