I think that is the same problem I have described before (W7, nVidia):
- new BIOS, Speed mode
The new bios cannot use the nvidia card initially, and W7 does turn
off the nvidia card and on the intel card on shut down.
Now linux with the OSI grub/lilo cmd line does something different, so
it boots into speed mode.
PITA those Sony guys did it again.
