Hi,

I was/am in contact with Norbert and the maintainer of the vanilla
kernel sony laptop module.
Norbert: I will eventually try your modified module. Sorry about the delay!
Unfortunately I am lacking a bit of time at the moment.
But eventually I will get around to it :)
So far I am just using WIN+F5 (and to be consistent: WIN+F6, even though
FN+F6 is working ;)).

As I am using Gentoo + vanilla kernel, I don't think it is an ubuntu
problem.
