Re: Who patched the bios of their VPC-Z11 successfully?

Actually credits for the "acpi_osi=" go to Michael.

I did not patch the bios (no need for this anymore).
I am now using a VPCZ11 with a Stock Ubuntu 10.10 kernel
(2.6.35-24-generic) with the following options in grub:
"quiet splash i8042.nopnp i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.noloop
acpi_osi="

What now works:
- NVidia works (I am using latest NVidia driver from the NVidia site)
- Resume works
- Microphone works

What I did not try:
- intel video with stock kernel (not a priority for me since I want
NVidia all the time for its performance.
- HDMI out

What does not work:
- Brightness control
- I am trying to use an Apple Magic Mouse (Bluetooth), but that keeps
causing the bluetooth driver to crash (not sure). Probably when the
mouse wants to go to sleep for a bit. I need to switch off wireless with
the hardware switch on the front to reconnect the mouse. Very annoying.
I only have one Bluetooth device connected. dmesg tells me this:
"
[ 2495.875694] usb 1-1.6: USB disconnect, address 20

I am almost a happy Vaio owner...
