I agree, but I would prefer we stick to packages in Ubuntu 12.04 for a
few reasons:

 1. We get security updates for five years (as this is an LTS release).
 2. We know the release is secure, stable, and has been tested.
 3. When we want to deploy this into production, it is much easier for
me to ask the Canonical IS team to deploy something with packages
already in 12.04 than ask them to add custom builds on top of this.

I would really much prefer to use the Django packages in Ubuntu 12.04
if possible.
