Message #01462
[Bug 286173] [NEW] powernowd crashing with the -q option.
Public bug reported:
After an abysmal battery life on my first day of use with ubuntu eee, I
looked around and noticed powernowd wasn't running.
-I remember seeing the cpu speed changing via /proc/cpuinfo when I first booted up, so I believe it was running at first.
-I performed a full system upgrade via the upgrade applet. This is when the problem may have popped up. (i'm unsure what logs to check, if any, to see what was upgraded.)
-I could get powernowd running from the commandline with specifying -d and -v.
-I removed the -q option from /etc/default/powernowd and then powernowd would start fine.
my eee pc: 1000hd, 1GB, 120GB
(originally with XP)
running ubuntu eee 8.04.1
