Things look fairly good here :^)
I see no seriously troubling
effects with either the standard Unity DE or with
the flashback sessions, in fact the flashback
w/Compiz session seems a bit better. Well there are
possibly some "light text" issues with using the
Adwaita theme in Ubuntu but since it's not an
out-of-box theme for Ubuntu or Edubuntu I don't
consider that much of a problem.
Where about are the light text issues? In Unity itself or
apps?
Only in 'gnome-panel' when using one of the flashback
sessions, sorry I didn't make that clear.
This is probably a regression due to the recent gtk+ 3.10
update in Trusty.
I've done a fair amount of retesting with Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu,
and Edubuntu in regards to flashback w/metacity - both pre PPA
and post PPA, and I'm 99% sure that we're not causing any
regression.
Great!
No idea why I had trouble with the panels/applets in my first
test in Ubuntu GNOME, but on a retest on the OS I'd used to test
the Saucy -> Trusty Alpha 1 upgrade all was well. So I purged
everything related the flashback session, rebooted, and then
reinstalled 'gnome-panel' in the problem OS and all was well
............ or I should say no worse than before applying the
upgrades from the PPA because there are some existing issues
with the flashback sessions.
Moving on to our default GNOME DE and GNOME classic I see that
you've fixed both of the bugs I reported - looks great now to me
:^)
I'm generally a mouse-centric user so I can't really help
regarding keyboard shortcuts, sorry :^(
fix for keyboard shortcuts is coming...
Has anyone who is testing on real hardware hit a white lockscreen?
Most of my testing has been on bare metal:
Intel Atom CPU 230 @ 1.60GHz
Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
Intel N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Realtek RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev
02)
2GB DDR2 RAM
And I've not seen that.
Lance
PS: Most of my Edubuntu testing has been performed on:
VIA C7 CPU @ 1500MHz
VIA CN700/P4M800 Pro/P4M800 CE/VN800 Graphics [S3 UniChrome Pro]
(rev 01)
VIA VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)
Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev
78)
1GB DDR2 RAM
But I've only tested flashback w/metacity as chosen during
installation in that test-case.
