well, we are discussing a design here ... visually as well as

what would be wrong with this ? as long as you have optional tools to
get all the extra options ? obviously iOS is successful among users ...
(independently if you or i like it *people* do and we should take that
into account when designing new functionality)

i didn't say third parties ... but surely mean third party apps ... if
you add advanced functions to the default settings, test them with your
mom (and i literally mean it) and if she gets along with them without
your explanation ... if she doesn't and gets confused, it isn't a good
default and you should think it over.

what if there is only one user ? 
you will also have to have some kind of unlock function for security
reasons ...
