Re: Fwd: My app for Ubuntu app showdown contest

Hi Fabio,

I will have a look tomorrow night :)
I don't have a suitable phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace) but I do have a Nexus 7 (original) and have been testing my very basic work thus far on that.

I would love it if this could become usable on the desktop too as I personally find Linux desktop paint apps lacking.

Hi Matt,

I'm very pleased to know that you're interested in this project. I'm planning to release many blueprints and instructions in the next days as I will be under ADSL connection (there are many pictures that help showing the design). If you want you can start looking and hacking the code in the meantime ;) It's on launchpad, you can find it searching U-Draw ;) There are also some pictures of that shown in the G+ ubuntu-developer community ;)

P.S.
Last but not least: do you have a compatible ubuntu phone? Because I have a Samsung Galaxy S Plus and there won't be any port for it until october or november :/ So I can try the app only on my laptop (maybe on the tablet, but tablet support will come after) :)

Thank you very much for your help and interest, it's very appreciated! :)

    Hi Fabio,

I had the same idea. I would love to help you with this :)
Anything you'd like me to do let me know.

    Matt

P.S. Obviously as far as the app showdown (and potential prizes
thereof) is concerned you would remain the author

Hello, I'm currently working on a drawing app. I called it
u-draw, which is both "you draw" and "Ubuntu draw". I plan to
keep it simple, to be used by everybody. It also should allow to
load images and to draw on them. Then the work can be shared on
social networks and/or saved on the device. Currently is in alpha
state: it draws and you can change color and width of the stroke.
It uses the canvas QML module. I spend most of the time trying to
find documentation, but now things are getting better (html5
canvas is really similar). Hope to have it completed in time for
    the app showdown contest.

    Your sincerely.
