Message #07049
Landing team meeting 19.03.14
Hey,
good progress today to get to a Qt 5.2 first promotable image. We still
have some issues, but tried to categorize them to see if user-experience
wise and without lowering our testing level, we can promote an image soon.
We are still double checking all incoming and try to converge landings.
However, you will be please to note that we have a very high pass rate
of landings those days (26 silos published in the past 24h for instance
et we are for a numbers of days > 15 silos a day).
#245:
* new system-image delivering a bunch of bug fixes, including the manual
check for updates one.
* music-app got released and we don't have any AP test failure anymore \o/
* the rebuild of sudoku-app has been released as well, making the app
compatible with Qt 5.2.
* some some build failure fixes in newly available architecture and some
desktop webapps inheritage.
#246:
* This one provides the Mir version fixing 3 regressions mentioned
yesterday. The testsuite has some manual updates to ensure that those
regressions will be manually tested before releasing.
* Some work on hybris to ensure that Mir are using the correct graphic
components on the emulator (mesa) or in android-based devices.
The sdk test has been fixed directly (it's pulled from trunk in CI). The
QA team is going to help in some of the AP test failures debugging. We
are almost there! I tried to classify the issues in 3 independent category:
** Blocking issues for image promotion **
* flaky test failure on calendar-app (Alan/Jean-Baptiste):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calendar-app/+bug/1293489
-> Chris pushed a fix for it. We are waiting for a review and release.
* Volume buttons no longer function correctly since #238 mako/flo/manta
(Kevin):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/android/+bug/1293478
Unity8 has a workaround for it (the issue was due to Qt 5.2 treating
negative numbers as long instead of int now). Unity8 will soon land with
this.
** Issues to look at (not enough info/easy reproduction as of now to be
on the blocking list today) **
* unity8 crash when search in home and music scope (Kevin)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1294605
Depending on the amount of music data on the phone, it's quite easy to
make it crash. The bug is related to an older crash with the same cause
(pre-Qt 5.2). But it seems it's even easier to trigger on 5.2. Not
reliable enough though for upstream to get a good stacktrace (all the
ones we had were corrupted).
* random screen hanging up after a while (Kevin):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-mir/+bug/129041
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-mir/+bug/1290416>
Seems that one is hard to reproduce (see discussion on the ML). Note
that Dave didn't get any lock on #246 today.
** Non blocking new issues since last promoted image (doesn't impact
user experience or really rare bug) **
* messaging app flaky test (Bill):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/messaging-app/+bug/1293610
-> put under that category as we didn't get it in past 5 images.
However, Leo has a pending fix to make the test more reliable.
* click-apparmor and apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu image tests failing with
new ofono* (Jamie)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/qa-regression-testing/+bug/1294667
-> only impact testing, not user visible but understood now and getting
fixed.
* sudoku-app has still one test failure (Alan/Jean-Baptiste):
A flaky AP test failure:
http://ci.ubuntu.com/smokeng/trusty/touch/mako/245:20140318.2:20140304/7250/sudoku_app/919515/
-> this one is on the non blocker list as it wasn't part of the CI
dashboard before today
Cheers,
Didier
