A good picture and also explanation of the pins is here:
http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/135967/can-i-use-non-apple-headphones-with-an-iphone
As in my test the audio was fine, it seems that the Apple and the BQ use
the same American Headset Jack (AHJ) pinout: Left Audio, Right Audio, Ground, Mic.
TRRS layout; the rest, i.e. get the +/- and mic buttons working is just
a software issue in the Ubuntu phone, I think; or find another headset
which is compatible with the implementation of the signals in Ubuntu (or Android kernel
layer).
Is there any such device or is there an open issue in our bugtracker?
