Hi Vincent
Thanks for your update. I tried to follow your instructions but, as
you can see from the attached screenshot, my phone is not accepting
the "sudo phablet-shell" command! For the recoord, my phone is
permanently in developer mode, so I don't know what the issue is!
Thanks for your assistance.
Regards
mj

Hi,
I've wrote a complete tutorial in french, but you should be able
to understand the commands
http://influence-pc.fr/03-07-2015-synchroniser-ses-contacts-et-calendrier-dubuntu-phone-via-owncloud-cosy-cloud
My password was wrong, and after that I had some problem using
crontab to make it automatic.

As said in the (long) subject, I'm trying to do this with a
standard
protocol, not with a Google Account. My CardDav/Caldav provider
is an
Owncloud installed on my own server.
Someone else?
In my case (syncevolution towards OwnCloud) things are working as
expected, but I have bought a regular certificate from a CA.
Anyway, i saw in a askubuntu page linked from another message in
this list that
"if you are using a self-signed certificate you would download it
from the server, save it localy and tell syncevolution where to
find it
SSLServerCertificates="/home/phablet/YOURCERTIFICATE.crt". You
can place this command just after the URL parameter."
