Re: Application startup

Hey Omer,

yes I did, however we had to change applauncherd to meet some security requirements. Now we need to reprofile the whole thing. However I'm on vacation this week, results
will be available not before next week.

Cheers

Hey!

Is there an update on this ? Did you find any substantial app launch time improvements with the booster ?

Thanks!

So with Zeller Benjamin we have created a version of the

            profile and
document the performance impact of this solution on the
            application
            startup times.

Next week you will hear more about that. If the results
            are promising
then we can discuss about how to proceed. If not :) then
            we can say that
we have properly investigated this possibility.

I would expect the results to be roughly the same that you already
provided. The introduction of the exec() call will likely slow
        down the
booster a bit, but it shouldn't have an effect on the application
startup time (because generally the booster is started ahead
        of time).

Thats exactly what I expect too. How the booster process is
    created is irrelevant
for the app boost. It happens ahead of time and when a app should
    be boosted the
    process exists already...

        Ciao,
           Alberto
