Thanks for this mail.
I can't speak to all your points (hw repair, particular application
requests) But at least on the topic of the recent release, believe me there
are many folks at Canonical chasing some of the usability bugs.
For the comments on performance, it's really helpful to be specific in
terms of a particular use case - although I'm not asking for that response
here in email but rather on launchpad bugs. I can see from your lp account
you've logged a few in the past. And while they may not have immediate
activity it's the best way for something not to get lost.
