Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Start a Jam!

Thanks Mark! I am glad to have left Microsoft behind too, it's liberating. I will get a CD of the latest nightly build on Friday and have it with me on Saturday for any who care to try it. I know a very small bit of python. I am just diving into the language.

Nice to hear that you broke the chains of Microsoft. Regards to a Raring Ringtail build, you are correct about the beta build, however nightly builds can be downloaded here ( http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/). Remember nightly builds tend to be very buggy.

Also I would be interested in doing some sort of python coding. I pretty much know zero coding but am looking into learning.

    Paul,

In short - no. I have never been to one of these so don't know what to
expect. I am decently new to the Ubuntu world, but love it. I have
become fairly familiarized with it, to the point of replacing windows 8,
fully. I currently have 12.10 installed, and if I remember correctly,
Michael is also fairly new. We could possibly play around with this?
If we have access to an early release of 13.04, I'd be extremely
interested in checking that out. I don't think the beta of that comes
out for a few weeks though.

If anyone meeting with us has knowledge of the python programming
language, I would love to learn more than the little bit of it I know.
Then again, it isn't necessarily Ubuntu related, so maybe that wouldn't
    be a good idea.

Planning on hosting a google hangout from my laptop
    and posting the link
to google+....no clue what we will be doing though. Was hoping someone
else had some idea as to how these meetings should be structured. Was
planning on just winging it. Converted a buddy to Ubuntu though, so at
least the hangout could bring some exposure to the OS.

Brandon, Do we know what we want to do when we meet this Sat?
I can install on a laptop whatever Ubuntu we would want to
work on. Also, you can identify me because I will wear a ball
cap with "bascon" on it. Paul On Sat, 2013-02-16 at 16:03

Cool. So far, we have Paul, Michael, and myself meeting at
the Panera listed below on March 2nd around noon. If we
decide to do so, we can meet again on the 3rd, but I know
Michael has a decent drive already, so we can discuss that
when we meet. Anyone else looking to meet up with us? On

the 275 loop on 75. We could meet around noon (eh,
may be busy busy around that time, so if something
else would work better, I am willing to
accommodate) on the second of March? Also, I just
joined this community a few days ago, so really
have no idea what this jam is about. I like the
idea of being an active member, so am willing to
participate in whatever it is. If anyone else in
the area would like to meet up with us, the
time/date/venue are all changeable. We can work
together to determine the most convenient and/or
feasible options for all who are meeting. On

Paul, We could meet at a Starbucks
somewhere in cincinnati on that Saturday
around noon? I live in the Northwest side
of the city, so it would be easiest for me
to meet somewhere near tri County. I know
I'm being very vague here, just trying to
determine what would work best for both of
us, or anyone else who would be willing to
join us. There's a Starbucks or a panera
near here if that would work for you? I'll
get details on the location once we reach
a consensus on general area and venue.
Maybe a McDonald's would work even. All
these places have free WiFi too.
                        Set a date/time/location, and I'll be there
too (coming down from Dayton so north side is
more convenient). Paneras are also good
locations. GIlbert
