[Bug 501598] [NEW] [lucid] kernel mode setting kms broken, no gdm, with intel on eeepc 1000h

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

i just upgraded my karmic installation to ludid and kms doesn't seem to work anymore on my netbook.
KMS was working fine in karmic.

i probably will test with a daily image to see if i can reproduce this.

-----------------
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:	Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release:	10.04

$ sudo apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel
xserver-xorg-video-intel:
  Installed: 2:2.9.1-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2:2.9.1-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2:2.9.1-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com lucid/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

What i expected to happen: Boot and see gdm login screen where i could insert my username/passwd and login to gnome normally
What happened instead: after boot the screen shows abstract colors and no gdm login screen. VT switching is not working either.
