[Bug 544525] [NEW] dual monitor not working

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I am attempting to set up dual monitors for the first time in ubuntu. I
recently upgraded to 10.04. on both monitors I have the image I get is
corrupt on the monitor, and if I set it to mirror the displays my laptop
screen becomes unresponsive and everything on it is whiter. I am trying
to set this up through vga. I can still move the mouse around on the
corrupt screen and see it fine.
