Likewise ancedotal only but since most burn software verifies after burn the
errors are more likely bad iso imafe (don't do that) and older drives on the
target machine that are incompatible with the burn media or perhaps out of
alignment (just on the edge - might work for commercially duplicated media).

Not sure media check would reliably help with either problem...

Out of curiosity, would a media check also find errors if the .iso used
to burn the disk was incomplete/faulty?
