Re: Remove Pornographic Apps from the "Apps Available for Download"

Ryan,

There was at one point an Ubuntu remix[1] specifically targeting Christianity (and another for Islam as well). Your efforts would probably me be put to better use there.

Folks, please stop this thread, it's not constructive. This is not a
mailing list for discussions about religion or culture, except as it
applies to the design and user experience of Unity and Ubuntu.

Just stop.

The community council is the best place to have a conversation about
policy in this regard. As a member of the CC, I'll make a general call
on this which you can escalate to the full CC if you wish.

On the subject of searches, yes, it's inappropriate that "Porn Viewer"
shows up in a search for something other than "porn". I don't dispute
the right of the project owners to call it that, but we don't need to
promote it, and should prejudice it in cases where the user is not
explicitly looking for it.

So, please file a bug to the effect that:

* we should have a set of apps which will only match a very
restricted, specific title search
* we should have a documented policy to this effect, and a mechanism
to add apps to that list

Mark

Mark,

I would like to feel free to evangelise where I wish. Can I do so at the
CC? I also would like to see Ubuntu as a Christian operating system if
possible. Where can I take this? Thanks!

Ryan
