Re: Tagging - idea and what I'm missing
My two cents:
Without writing any code, users can implement a workable solution to tagging
on their own using Backlinks.
To tag a page as "essay ideas" for example, add a link somewhere on the page
to ":tags:essay-ideas". Then follow the link and add a one-character body to
that page (just a "." would suffice) to make sure it doesn't get garbage
collected. Now, whenever you want to see pages that belong to a certain tag,
just go to that tag's page and hit ALT-B to show backlinks.
I'm going to try this out tomorrow on my work notebook.
That having been said, I also would appreciate it if anyone wanted to code
up the necessary UI features to make this scheme feel more natural.
