Well, that's anticlimactic -- it, er, seems to work for me.  Did you
re-build the extension after merging?

It seems that the virtualization platform I've been using at home
doesn't do 64-bit.  I'm not up for switching to something else this very
moment, but I can have a go at installer-installing on my box proper.
What's the necessary voodoo to build it?
