Hi Jacob

If you were using the dhis2-tools it would mostly be a matter of running:

dhis2-deploy-war -t <instance name>

But if you are doing it manually, let me elaborate a bit on Knut's answer.

1. stop the dhis server
2. make a backup of the database
3. remove *everything* in the webapps directory (typically dhis.war and a directory called ./dhis)
4. copy the downloaded war into the webapps directory
5. if you are using a frontend proxy (like nginx) then clear whatever might be in nginx cache directory
6. restart tomcat

If you ask your colleague to go through the steps above then, yes, you should experience a "seamless" upgrade.

Regards
Bob

It should require just stopping Tomcat, replacing the .war file and restarting.

Hi Knut/Abyot,

That may be a bit of a challenge for me as the instance I am currently using was setup by our colleague on our Linode infrastructure. Tell me; would the upgrade be seamless on my current version if I asked them to do it or perhaps it requires a lot more to do?

Jacob

Hi Jacob,

I think you should try switiching to 2.17 (trunk) as that has seen quite a lot of improvement.

Get it from here:
https://apps.dhis2.org/ci/job/dhis-trunk/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/dhis-2/dhis-web/dhis-web-portal/target/dhis.war

Hi,

I am not sure which version are you using, but I have found one issue that relates to changes made in the web-api. I Have made a fix few hours ago (for 2.16, version 16466). The trunk has no problem.

If you are using 2.16, please upgrade to the latest version.

Hi Abyot,

So I seem to have run into a wall, I am able to register and do enrollment at the first instance as shown below:

[cid:image002.png@01CFD8EA.7C2F8670]
However am unable to add/create any events under data entry as these are not giving me the create new event option instead I get the not yet enrolled please enroll. I expect since I do registration and enrollment at the same time, the enrollment is supposed to pick the date of enrollment and date of birth which I entered in the registration form and display this then allow me to enter or create a new event.

See below:

Any pointers to this?

Thanks

Abyot,

That assignment of the program to OU was the missing bit, it's now working thanks.

Let me move on to the next bits to configure, Thank you so much and will post something if I do get stuck :)

Abyot,

While we are still trouble shooting at this, I was wondering that I may have missed the bit for assigning an org unit to a program, how can I go about that and see if it will resolve the form issue.

Have you assigned dataelements for your program stages?

Hi Jacob,

Have you created attributes and assigned them to your program?

Also, for a program to be available for registration/enrollment, it needs to have attribute(s), stage(s), and stage(s) with dataelements.

If all this is in place, see any log pressing F12 (if you are on chrome).

Thank you,

Hi ,

I am trying to configure patient tracker on a test instance, The test instance is online and working ok. What I am struggling with is getting the registration form to work. I have setup my initial option sets, my data elements as well as program and program stages however when I attempt to register the form is unavailable I get the below captured screenshot. Anyone kindly help.
