I "play" OSX every day on my MacBook and it is by far the best laptop I have ever had. Why I use Kicad, even though there are more mature tools out there, is that I work in a mixed OS environment. I myself use OSX and Linux, but have coworkers with Windows and we all need to work together. Kicad allows this just fine.
I doubt OSX support will become a distraction. I started this thread to see how to best package Kicad for OSX. In time I hope to be able to improve other parts, but I don't have much need for many features.
