In this example %s was substituted by "vertical" or "horizontal". That is
not that clear until you see the string in the running the program.
It could be useful to add a short comment just for translators that
explains how the %s are replaced by some keywords, for example.
Gettext should be able to add it as a the string translation aid comment[*]
#For translators: Clarify selection dialog
#Ex: "Vertical Wire from (x,y) to (x,y)"
or just a:
#For translators: "Vertical/Horizontal Wire from (x,y) to (x,y)"
will suffice
[*]Somewhere in the gettext manual (I just can't find it right now
https://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/gettext.html) is written that
if someone puts some comments just before or after the translatable
string, gettext will put that comment as a comment again, as a header for
the translatable string in the .po file.
