Agreed.  I'm not sure that we'll have time to do anything much about
re-sorting or default sort order before the 3.0 release (unless Vikram
continues to take up this work! :), but certainly, the comments here
and in the bugs filed won't be forgotten as we move forward beyond
3.0.
