Ok, I got the mini.iso installed picked lubuntu-core from the tasksel and
completed the install.  I was not able to boot into the lubuntu-core so I
booted into recovery mode and "sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop.  I had
a bootable partition at that point.  If I have time, I will try the install
straight from the tasksel to lubuntu-desktop with the 20120315 mini-iso or
a newer one if they spin it before I try the present one.
