I second Phill's proposal ...

* Desktop: Machines that fit the Live Desktop use-case are
likely to have bootable peripherals that exceed CD specs (e.g.
DVD drive or bootable USB)

* Alternate: retaining the ability to install a modern,
supported OS onto the hard drive of
otherwise-extremely-outmoded hardware will maintain one of the
great attractions to Lubuntu



I _have_ found myself needing to install Lubuntu from a PC
whose only means to do so was a CD drive, albeit not for the
last few releases. Even if the cases requiring this dwindle as
the years roll by, it makes sense to keep one spin with this
capability for as long as is reasonably feasible.
