What do you mean by 'almost right', that this is not the case currently?
(note that my 2 examples were unrelated, date A is different - and
'supplier' designated the supplier of raw materials, not your company...)

What you describe is what happens indirectly if you combine the 2 cases
and your manufacturing order is triggered by a sale order.
But keep in mind that it is not calculated at once: the s.o. creates its
procurements, which will trigger the creation of manufacturing orders,
which in turn will create their own procurements for the raw materials,
etc. And at each step the planned dated is computed backwards based on
the planned date of the previous step.

Isn't that what you expect?
