Ubuntu 10.10 (32-bit), OpenShot 1.2.2

When I was investigating another bug I noticed that OpenShot dealt with
a couple of thousand open files. I closed OpenShot and opend a saved
session. lsof showed every file opened twice. After playing around some
time (adding images, resizing effects, playback some parts of the video)
I reviewed the open files. lsof was showing over 4000 open files and
every file was opend more than 10 times. I didn't help to wait half an
hour (hoping that some sort of garbage collection would tidy up). I'm
not sure if this is a normal behavior but it looks like a bug to me.
