Thanks for your feedback on this issue.

I like the idea of telling people (politely) to
google/bingle/yahoogle... or use the mailing-list archive :)

Because I like the idea of supporting each other ... but after a certain
minimum of self-effort to resolve the problem (e.g. by doing the above
first).

I can understand that one can get angry about people for just being lazy
and/or thoughtless when posting to a mailing-list.
But it's better to stay polite - agreed :)
I hope my tone was not to harsh.
