Hi Nick, all,
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux_31_power_regress&num=1
Ahh, interesting, Sandybridge problem.
According to this
http://phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?59524-Linux-3.1-Kernel-Draws-More-Power-With-Another-Regression/
thread it seems that adding the boot parameter
i915.i915_enable_rc6=1
should fix these issues. There are some others, but if most things
mentioned in the thread are normally automatically done when you
install
laptop-mode-tools
(you all have that, right?) like hda power saving etc.
Best wishes
Norbert
