Hi all, This is correct. If you have a non pae CPU the ISO will not work at all.The one button installer (OBI) does scan the computer and let the user know they can use a PAE kernel.
Debian has a non-pae kernel (the i586 kernel) and a pae kernel (i686) and Jessie is supported until 2020 IIRC. This solves all the PAE issues I can think of, as by 2020 most of those computers not supporting PAE will have other issues (CPU is too slow to do much of anything on the internet, not enough RAM is possible to use most programs, etc..)
I think the Debian version will be a good enough fallback for our users.The next version of Debian may very well have the i586 kernel as well, and then can continue support.
