Public bug reported:

Ubuntu-eee 8.04.1 on Asus eee PC 900 (downloaded and installed from
ubuntu-eee.com Sept 12th 2008).

After boot the wifi is active and clicking on the Networking icon a list of all the access points in range is correctly shown.
However, after selecting one AP, the password is eventually asked but no connection is possible. The first dot becomes green, the other stays grey and after a while the attempt fails and the first dot goes back to grey. It happens with both WAP2 and open AP.

Fn+F2 keys can disable the Wifi and the blue led indicator switches off
correctly. When I try to reactivate the card the led goes blue again for
just after 5 seconds and then it goes back off again. The only way to
reactivate the card is to reboot the system.

Both problems have been reported by many other users in different
forums.
